No surprise, since Penske raced so successfully for Porsche in the days of the Can Am with Mark Donohue and the legendary 917/10 and 917/30 cars were what ultimately led to the demise of the original Can Am.  Then, Penske came back, with tremendous success, racing with Porsche and their RS Spyder LMP2 car in the mid 2000s, as part of the old American Le Mans Series, racing against Audi and their diesel LMP1 roadster.
