The beginning of a new era

With this weekend's revival of the "Super Sebring" weekend and the 12 Hours of Sebring along with the 1,000 Miles of Sebring, for IMSA, and the FIA World Endurance Championship, the time is now.  The time is now, for the worlds of sports car racing in both Europe and the United States, to converge for their new cars and technical regulations that are coming in IMSA, next year, with the revitalization of the Grand Touring Prototype name.  Keep an eye on the races this weekend, because you are about to see what the convergence looks like, with cars that hopefully, will be able to race together.  It is going to be interesting and extraordinary to watch.  You have read all the stories, and probably seen the entry lists for these races.  We will have wall to wall coverage this weekend of all the races, and from there, this is a taste of the manna from heaven for sports car fans as the convergence idea is no longer an idea but a vision that is coming to reality.

Looking forward to seeing how things work out, both in broadcast, and in the printed word, as yours truly brings you the reports on these motor races.  Watch FIA WEC on the Motor Trend app if you have it, and watch IMSA, on NBC's Peacock platform if you have access to that.  You will not want to miss either of these races.  As our world is in a place of craziness, hopefully the world of motor racing, of endurance sports car racing, can be a uniting idea of competition, closely fought, but also showing a landscape of peace as motorsports is one of the most charitable sports out there, which shows in this time of uncertainty surrounding the people of Ukraine.  Looking forward to a couple of fabulous motor races this weekend.  Remember, there are three.

On Thursday, we will bring you the two-hour event for Michelin Pilot Challenge.  On Friday, full coverage of the 1,000 Miles of Sebring for World Endurance.  On Saturday, the 70th anniversary running of the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring.  It is going to be a weekend to remember.  The excitement mounts.  Stay tuned to the blog for many, many more pre-race updates, and we'll see you on Thursday to kick things off.  Can't wait!
