1,000 Miles of Sebring: Hour 6

Toyota #8 is up by a lap over it's sister car.  it is very dark here at sebring as we hop onboard with Richard Lietz.  It was a full four tire set for the #67 Ford GT, Jonathan Bomarito at the wheel of it.  He has done very well.  Could Bomarito get a chance to race with Ford at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in June?  We shall see.  Porsche #91 in the lane for full service, tires, fuel,. and a driver change.  Gianmaria Bruni is now into the car.  Jonathan Bomarito is now following the #90 Aston Martin.  "I'm getting a fuel warning", says Jonathan Bomarito.  "Have you tried turning it off and on, again?"  The #98 Aston Martin, has lost two laps.  what was their issue?  We haven't heard anything.  Meanwhile, the #88 Porsche is in the lane, Giorgio Roda at the controls.  Sebastien Buemi still leads with just under three hours to go.  Rebellion #1 is in it's tent, as Maxime Martin pits the #97 Aston Martin.

It is the first appearance for the new generation Aston Martin's in North America.  This place shakes your fillings loose, and it shakes these cars to pieces.  Jonathan Bomarito is being caught by Martin Tomczyk.  But, Tomczyk is out of sequence.  You are working all the time.  Alessandro Pier Guidi has set the third fastest lap in five laps, at 1:59.6, with Ford's running two minutes, dead, and BMW at 2:00.6.  Egidio Perfetti is just half a second ahead of Jonny Adam, a factory Aston Martin driver on loan to TF Sport.  Augusto Farfus and Bruno Spengler are looking on from pit lane.  The #10 DragonSpeed car is not so speedy, and is languishing in the pit lane again.

Toyota runs 1-2.  Jackie Chan DC Racing has led LMP2 all the way, and Ford, have led GTE Pro all race, as Julien Andlauer pits the Dempsey Proton Porsche, as Project 1 has also had a wonderful race so far.  They are back in the lead of GTE Am and need a pit stop.  Toyota #7 is pit lane.  Jose Maria Lopez, out, and Kamui Kobayashi, in.  Kobayashi goes back into the motor race.  The BR01 is a car that doesn't accept bumps very well.  Brendon Hartley is going to be ready to race the 12 Hours tomorrow.  Jonathan Bomarito says that the Ford GT is understeering through turns 15 and 16, in the esses before the back straight.  It's flat, but Sebring has slight adverse camber to it as well.

We missed seeing the rocket go up, and there's a hot air balloon or something, going up now.  Rats,  Oh well.  David Heinemeier Hanson has done really well, and so does Loic Duval.  He won with Nicolas Lapierre here in 2011 in the Team Oreca Peugeot 908 HDi FAP, winning over the factory cars.  Lapierre is a former Toyota factory driver, too, before they canned him.  Anthony Davidson is in the lane from third in LMP2, being passed by TDS Racing.  Roberto Gonzalez is in his second stint in the car with two hours and 27 minutes left.  Gustavo Menezes is now at the controls of the #3 Rebellion.  The #17 SMP Racing car is still the single car to have retired from this motor race.

Sebastien Buemi is a great driver, and is very intense on the radio, his engineer telling him, "take it easy, Sebastien."  Sebastien Buemi runs 1:45.8, and its a 1:44.3 for his team mate.  Sebastien Buemi is understandably worried about going out in the marbles, in the clag omg the outside of the circuit.  Corvette has a spare door ready to replace the burned out light for the number panel on the door.  Jonathan Bomarito is still understeering in the Ford GT.  The front tire is dropping off, scrubbing rubber off of the tire.  You lose tire temperature and it can cause the driver to lose time, too.

The BMW had all four tires changed.  The front tires are getting less wear than the rears for the Ford, and maybe they were on qualifying tires, and the #98 Aston Martin is being reported to the stewards for disobeying blue passing flags.  Martin Tomczyk seems to be closing up to Jonathan Bomarito, and Harry Tincknell will be the next driver into the car.  Racing Team Nederland are having issues, but Jackie Chan DC Racing, are improving, with Stephane Richelmi driving.  Jonathan Bomarito passes Matt Campbell, and its trying to battle the BMW M8 GTE, the leading #81 car.  Martin Tomczyk is still driving that car.  Andre Negrao fresh out of the lane dives between a car, and the wall!  Yikes!

BMW has been in front, right at the beginning, and also. right now.  Martin Tomczyk is in the lane, and a new door for the Corvette is an IMSA GTLM door, not a WEC GTE Pro door.  If it is an IMSA door, it won't work.  You will get fined at the very least.  Alexander Sims is now at the wheel of BMW #81, but he's tumbled down the order.  Pit stop time for the #66 Ford GT.  Olivier Pla, out, and Stefan Mucke, in.  Stephane Richelmi is at the wheel of the #38 Jackie Chan DC Racing LMP2 machine.  Jordan King is extending his lead over Andre Negrao at the moment, as there's a very close shave between Olivier Beretta and the #92 Porsche.  That's Gianmaria Bruni.

DragonSpeed, they are out of the race.  Game over.  Have they thrown in the towel?  Or, are they too far behind to be scored?
