Blancpain GT Europe: Round 3, Paul Ricard 1,000 Kilometers

Round three of the Blancpain Endurance Series Europe, at Le Castellet, Paul Ricard High Tech Test Track, in Le Castellet, France, located in the southeastern part of the country, the Var, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region, a track that has been around since the 1970s when it hosted Formula 1 for the first time, as it does currently.  It also plays host once a year to the Blancpain GT Endurance Cup Europe.

Bentley wins the 1,000 Kilometers of Paul Ricard, from pole positions!  Jules Gounon from France, Jordan Pepper from South Africa, and Steven Kane, from England, are the winning drivers.  In the Silver division for Pro Am drivers, it is a second win in 2019 for AKKA ASP and their #90 Mercedes AMG GT3 piloted by Germany's Nico Bastian, Timur Boguslavskiy from Russia, and Brazilian Mercedes factory GT3 driver, Felipe Fraga.  AKKA ASP also wins Pro Am with the #87 Mercedes AMG GT3 for Frenchmen Jim Pla, and Jean Luc Beaubelique, sharing with Belgium's Mauro Ricci.  The all British Garage 59 Aston Martin team takes Am honors, with Chris Harris, Chris Goodwin, and Alexander West.

Overall/Pro: #107 Gounon/Pepper/Kane     Bentley Team M-Sport Bentley Continental GT3

Silver Cup: #90 Bastian/Boguslavskiy/Fraga     AKKA ASP Mercedes AMG GT3

Pro Am: #87 Beaubelique/Pla/Ricci                   AKKA ASP Mercedes AMG GT3

Am: #188 Goodwin/Harris/West     Garage 59 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3

This race, was the dress rehearsal, shall we say, for the main production... the biggest GT3 race in the world, coming up at the end of next month, the legendary 24 Hours of Spa Francorchamps to be held at the daunting, infamous, yet famous Circuit de Spa Francorchamps in the Ardennes forest of Belgium, coming up at the end of July.  That is a race you will definitely want to tune in for.  Trust me.  It will be a good one again this year.
