Action Express Rolex 24 Diary: Entry #2: Qualifying Day

Thursday at Daytona International Speedway is qualifying day.  Yours truly missed some of the GT Daytona qualifying after having conversations with and hanging out in the Action Express team's pit garage.  As luck would have it, I did not get a chance to speak with team principal, Bob Johnson.  He has been an incredible friend to me through email communication through a good chunk of the races in 2019.  But, the man is quite busy, as he not only has his racing team, but also other business endeavors.  Racing team principals, sometimes, they fully focus on the entirety of the team.  Although, there are still others, now, and in the past, that have also had success in other walks of life, and Mr. Johnson is indeed one of those people.  I did speak with one of Bob's associates, telling the team how much I am a fan and appreciate them.

Our best time, of 1:34.294, qualified us fourth on the starting grid, for the race on Saturday.  There is one final practice session on Friday morning, before the Rolex 24 itself, happens, on Saturday.  So, stay tuned for not only another diary entry at that particular time, but also, wall to wall coverage of the Rolex 24 itself, sourced from a few different areas, including the personal experience of yours truly, commentary and video from NBC Sports, and also, commentary and video from the folks at IMSA Radio and IMSA TV.  When I say, well rounded, and wall to wall coverage here on the blog, that is a guarantee.

Saturday is the big day.  Yours truly can't wait!
