Asian Le Mans Series in Bahrain/Abu Dhabi & season news for 2021

Yours truly has never had the opportunity or the time to cover the Asian Le Mans Series on this blog before.  But this year, since their season will be going between only Abu Dhabi and Bahrain, in the Middle East, it might be easier to cover what is going on with this championship.  The races themselves begin a week from today.  I believe there will be two four hour races per weekend for the next month or so.  With that in mind, here is some of the news being explored as the season is ready to kick off, and yours truly shall also research the season entry list to see who the top contenders are.
