6 Hours of Bahrain race broadcast


Here, is the full broadcast, of qualifying, and racing, for the 6 Hours of Bahrain at the Sakhir Circuit in Sakhir, Bahrain.  Another race, that yours truly, was unable to cover, in it's entirety, when it happened, last year.  Porsche won overall with their #18 Porsche 919 Hybrid driven by Marc Lieb, Romain Dumas, and Neel Jani, on their way, to the series title, completing 199 laps. 

G Drive Racing won LMP2 with the #26 Ligier JS P2 Nissan, driven by Roman Rusinov, Julien Canal, and Sam Bird.   LM GTE Pro honors went the way of the #92 Porsche Team Manthey factory Porsche 911 RSR shared by Patrick Pilet and Frederic Makowiecki.  In LM GTE Am, the #98 factory Aston Martin V8 Vantage, was victorious, with Paul Dalla Lana, Pedro Lamy, and Mathias Lauda, sharing the driving chores.

Again, the overall and class winners, were:

Overall/LMP1: #18 Lieb/Dumas/Jani     Porsche 919 Hybrid

             LMP2: #26 Rusinov/Canal/Bird   Ligier JS P2 Nissan

             LM GTE Pro: #92 Pilet/Makowiecki    Porsche 911 RSR

            LM GTE Am: #98 Dalla Lana/Lamy/Lauda     Aston Martin V8 Vantage

Timo Bernhard, Mark Webber, and Brendon Hartley win the LMP1 drivers' title.  Porsche, is manufacturer's champion.  Richard Lietz and Porsche win the GT drivers' and manufacturers' cups.  Rebellion Racing with drivers Mathias Beche and Nicolas Prost, win their second straight LMP1 Privateers title.  Rusinov, Canal, and Bird, for G Drive, win the LMP2 Driver's Endurance Championship.  Rebellion wins their fourth straight Endurance Trophy for private LMP1 teams.

After three years, AF Corse's dominance in the LM GTE Pro Endurance Trophy, has been snapped, as Porsche Team Manthey is champion in this category.  Finally, the fourth different team, in as many years, wins the LM GTE Am Endurance Trophy.  Congratulations, to the SMP Racing Ferrari 458 Italia GT2.

The 2016 FIA WEC season, starts, in just over a month.  We'll see you, from Silverstone, England, for the first race, of the new season, then.  So long for now, everyone.
