New Points Structure, Qualifying Format for 2021
The 2021 IMSA WeatherTech Championship race schedule has been released. It is largely unchanged from what it has been the past couple seasons. The test session for the Rolex 24 will occur a week before the race itself. The Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring has been moved to it's traditional mid-March date, and there will be two back-to-back races, after Sebring, in California, at Long Beach on the street course and then, at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
Detroit and Mosport also return to the schedule, removing this year's sprint race at Daytona International Speedway. Mid Ohio has been moved two weeks back, and we await the confirmation of a return to the street course at Belle Isle in Detroit, Michigan.

Also, a fifth class has been confirmed for the 2021 WeatherTech Championship. LMP3 cars will now be eligible, meaning the Prototype Challenge division will be defunct, and these cars will be added to IWSC.
