24 Hours of Le Mans: Hour 10

Porsche #93 has been in the garage, getting repaired.  Toyota #8 is back in pit lane for routine service, and Sebastien Buemi will remain in the car.  Going to try to go by onboard cameras for a while as the TV coverage on Velocity has been intermittent for yours truly.  BMW and Ferrari are ahead of the Ford's in LM GTE Pro right now, aboard the Rebellion it seems.  Headlights have to be on at all times, and a sequence of flashes can't last more than two seconds, through a series of four flashes.  Let's see.  The two Toyota's, lead.  Sebastien Buemi leads the team Toyota, with Thomas Laurent, three laps off the lead in the #3 Rebellion.  The #1 Rebellion is next.  The LMP2 cars are beginning to the threaten with G-Drive, Signatech, Panis Barthez Competition, IDEC Sport, Graf SO24, and TDS Racing.  All these cars are coming.

It's a mixed bag in GTE Pro.  #92 and #91 lead GTE Pro as Philipp Eng is now down by six seconds, in the BMW M8 GTE #81, with Sebastien Bourdais, Richard Westbrook, and Jan Magnussen, coming. Both CORE Autosport Porsche's have had all sorts of issues.  Romain Dumas is 59th out of 60 and after a broken rear suspension, it could be game over for #94.  Dempsey Proton are first and third.  Track temp is dropping just after midnight at Le Mans.  We have a significant development.  Phillip Eng has damage to the #81 BMW M8 GTE and needs a brake check over.  Richard Lietz will be second when the Ford stops.  BMW is changing front brakes.  Nicky Catsburg gets back into the #81 car.

We saw a 29 second brake change for Corvette a while ago. Calipers and rotors will be changed here.  Sebastien Bourdais has gone to second.  The wall at Porsche Curves was moved back after Marc Gene had a scary incident in the Peugeot back in 2009 or 2010.  Sebastien Bourdais is in the lane for full service, and Joey Hand takes over the car.  Bourdais was closing in on Richard Lietz, and Bourdais was running quicker laps.  Kevin Estre goes out in the #92 Porsche, the "Pink Pig".  BMW is having damper problems, in their first Le Mans, for not only BMW Team MTEK, but also, for the BMW M8 GTE.  The engine was not turned off in the pit lane.  It has to be turned parallel with the garage before starting the engine to exit pit lane.

Mike Conway leads Le Mans in car #7.  156 laps on the board so far.  BMW #81 is still having issues.  One of the Ginetta G60LT's is having another problem.  Oliver Rowland has barely gone through Tetre Rouge.  He has to get to a marshal post, and that car is busted.  The driveline has gone kaput, and it could be an early bath for Ginetta here.  Sebastien Buemi is closing in on Mike Conway.  Ben Hanley in the BR01 Gibson has moved ahead of the Ginetta in LMP1.  Two Toyota's, two Rebellion's, the DragonSpeed BR Gibson, and the Ginetta, as Sebastien Buemi pits for a regular service.

Mike Conway pits, and so does Thomas Laurent.  Has the Ginetta stopped again, with Ollie Rowlandat the wheel of it?  It seems he is dead stick on the Mulsanne.  Again, it's probably an early bath for this entry.  We're getting close to just 14 hours left now.  Julien Canal pits the Panis Barthez car.  Mike Conway still has the lead over Sebastien Buemi.  Thomas Laurent took fuel only, but there was a slight issue for the Rebellion.  Sebastien Buemi makes his way down to the esses.  Porsche still leads GTE Pro.
