Another update from the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (Meisterschaft), which is now of course, a GT3-based sprint championship. The latest round of the championship took place just last weekend at the Autodromo Enzo E Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy. In race one, Rene Rast, multiple DTM champion aboard the #33 Team Abt Audi R8 start from pole. He also went on to win the 50-event, while Lamborghini's Mirko Bortolotti, the Italian, set fastest lap of the motor race for the first race of the weekend.
Race 1 Winner: #33 Rene Rast GER. Team Abt Audi R8 LMS Evo II.
In race two, Ricardo Feller in another Team Abt Sportsline Audi earned the pole in car #7. Feller went on to win, sweeping the junior category and the overall victory while Nick Cassidy, the New Zealander, uncorked fastest lap of the motor race aboard the #37 AlphaTauri AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3.

Chalk up an Abt Audi sweep between two of the drivers at Imola. Coming next for the DTM is the doubleheader weekend at the famed Norisring street course in Bavaria, in Nuremberg. That event will be run the first weekend in July.
Meanwhile, in the DTM Trophy for GT4 spec sports cars, Imola was the second event of their championship with two races on the docket. Two, 30-minute events were held over the course of the weekend at the Italian circuit in the Emilia Romagna region. Race one had French Edouard Cauhaupe on the pole driving for BWT Mucke Motorsport in their #18 Mercedes-AMG GT4. Fastest lap and the race victory in the first event went to German team Project 1 and their #47 BMW M4 GT4 driven by Dutchman Colin Caresani.

In race two, Germany's Jacob Riegel started from pole in his #63 Speed Monkeys Aston Martin Vantage GT4. Once again, though, Colin Caresani continued his winning ways.
