Barrier repairs still going on as we are halfway through the 2023 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. From third place, the #999 Mercedes AMG GT3 has pitted. MacDonald and Prette in the two McLaren's are in. Driver change for the #999 and the #188 McLaren is the Bronze class leader for Garage 59. The sister #159 went out of the race some time ago. Next up in the #93 Sky Tempesta McLaren is Chris Froggatt and then the #91 Herberth Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3R of Ralf Bohn. Louis Prette's car is in the garage for the technical pit stop, for fixing the car, doing the brake change, cleaning the car up and so on. Brake change at McLaren.
We've not seen much from the Italian's, from Ferrari or Lamborghini, so far in this motor race. Glenn van Berlo is leading the Silver division. We are going to have the wave by starting again soon. Game over for the #998 BMW M4 GT3 of Neil Verhagen, Dan Harper, and Max Hesse. Barrier repairs continue as the cars trundle around under the safety car conditions. The closing rate with these GT3 car is huge. The barriers are still being repaired. The tractor is out cleaning up the debris. The #92 Manthey EMA Porsche 911 GT3R just pitted. The Porsche #55 is in the lane and we have another car pitting. Phillip Saiger in the Dinamic Huber Porsche.
The Grove #4 Porsche is in the pit lane. The #60 VSR Lamborghini has pitted as well. We are halfway now through the 13th hour of this event. I mean, not much to talk about with the barrier repairs and we've been going through a series of highlight packages and what has happened since the race began. Daylight will approach soon it appears. The skies are lightening as Neil Verhagen is now talking to Charles Weerts and WRT to apologize for the incident. Talk it out, and don't let this stuff fester. A few cars from different classes are starting to make inroads and we are half an hour away from sunup. Here comes the money shot, the sunrise. There's not much of it because of the cloud cover but it is there.
We remain under Full Course Yellow and we saw that shemozzle between current leader Valentino Rossi and the #16 Uno Racing Audi and no, I cannot remember who was driving that car. Audi #888 IS leading Pro-Am. Augusto Farfus in the #46 Team WRT entry is still in the fight. They have another bullet in the gun with August Farfus. This was clearly a racing incident between #46 and #16 and then the #32 and the #998. We will go to safety car and wave by's but the barriers are still being worked on.
Wholesale pit stops are on as Ralf Bohn comes in at the wheel of the #91 Herberth Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3R. Ralf Bohn sharing with Alfred Renauer, Robert Renauer, and Kay van Berlo. The barriers are not yet fixed. Sandy Mitchell is also in the lane in the #6 K-PAX Racing Lamborghini putting the #40 Audi of Mattia Drudi at the wheel of it, the Audi Sport Tresor Orange1 car of Mattia Drudi, Ricardo Feller, and Dennis Marschall.
Work continues on replacing the Armco barriers and we'll be set in ten minutes with the barriers being bolted back in. Mattia Drudi leads the motor race and now we are looking to see when the safety car comes out. BMW #46 has now dropped down the order. Maxime Martin though, had an short hour's worth of sleep. The adrenaline is kicking in indeed. We welcome Jemma Scott back to the pit lane. Good morning, everybody.
Augusto Farfus is sitting there in a sweltering hot cockpit, exhausted, chugging around on the speed limiter at 80 clicks. On the speed limiter the car is basically on autopilot. Can you do another stint? No if I can't stay awake? Am I going to do a double or a triple stint? Play me something on the radio. Give me something I can use. We are getting closer. We went Full Course Yellow at 3:33 A.M. and now it is 5:24 A.M. and we have had to fill two ours worth of barrier repairs. We are getting close to going back to green flag racing. Conrad Grunewald, the American, leads the Bronze Cup in the #188 Garage 59 McLaren.
Raffaele Marciello still leads this motor race.
